In celebration of Heart Month, Dr. Mustafa Toma, the Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program at St. Paul’s Hospital, was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show on February 22, 2022 for a surprise reunion with actor and heart transplant recipient Jason Gray-Stanford. Jason is an award-winning Vancouver actor known for his roles on Monk and The X-Files, and received his heart transplant at St. Paul’s Hospital in 2020.
The popular TV segment took the time to recognize Heart Month and to bring awareness about heart disease and organ donation, as well as the hard work being done by the Transplant Program at St. Paul’s Hospital. Patient Advocacy helps bring national and international awareness to organ transplantation. Additionally, Jason and Dr. Toma, as well as St. Paul’s Hospital were featured in People Magazine.
