The UBC Divisions of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery offer expedited referrals to General Cardiology Clinics for urgent patients at both St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH) and Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). We also have numerous Specialty Clinics to address various cardiac conditions at SPH, VGH, and UBC Hospital. For referrals to specific cardiologists at either hospital, please fax the regional referral form to the cardiologist’s office.

The Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Centre for Thoracic Aortic Disease (CTAD): serving patients across the continuum of disease management. BC Inherited Arrhythmia Program (BCIAP) at SPH
The BC Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic accepts referrals for suspected or known diagnosis of an inherited arrhythmia (Long QT syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, Brugada syndrome, sudden unexplained cardiac arrest and sudden unexpected death, some hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). Pre-pregnancy counselling and cardiac care are provided to pre-conception or pregnant women with congenital and acquired heart disease at risk of developing heart complications during pregnancy by specially trained physicians and nurses to support them through their pregnancy. The Prevention Clinic incorporates multidisciplinary assessment and management (nurse educator, dietician, physician) of cardiovascular risk, inherited or other dyslipidemia, statin intolerance, known CVD, personal or family history of premature vascular disease, pre-diabetes, and smoking cessation. Cardiac Sarcoidosis Clinic at SPH
Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory condition involving infiltration of granulomas into various tissues, most commonly the lungs. Heart Transplant Clinic at SPH
St Paul’s Hospital is home to British Columbia’s only heart transplant program. Patients who are less than 70 years old with end-stage heart failure or acutely decompensating heart failure may be eligible for transplant assessment and are referred to St Paul’s Hospital by their GP or Cardiologist.
