The UBC Division of Cardiology is pleased to announce the recipients of 2024 Awards. Please join us in celebrating our colleagues, Dr Jason Andrade, and Dr. Jasmine Grewal, who have notably contributed to the field of cardiovascular health.
  • The CIHR Project Grant has awarded $569,926 to support the study:
    “Strategies for Catheter Ablation of Persistent Atrial Fibrillation: A Randomized Comparative Study (STAR AF 3).” This study will be led by Principal Investigator Dr. Jason Andrade. The project will run from 2024 to 2027, aiming to innovate and compare catheter ablation techniques for persistent atrial fibrillation.
  • Dr. Jason Andrade is also serving as a Co-Investigator on the project “Left Bundle Pacing vs. Standard Right Ventricular Pacing for Heart Failure,” funded by CIHR. This project has been awarded a grant of $2,291,176 and will span from 2024 to 2029.

Heart & Stroke, Brain Canada, and CIHR recently announced the award of three team project grants for congenital heart disease research. Two of these projects feature contributions from the Head of the UBC Division of Cardiology.
