The Prevention Clinic incorporates multidisciplinary assessment and management (nurse educator, dietician, physician) of cardiovascular risk, inherited or other dyslipidemia, statin intolerance, known CVD, personal or family history of premature vascular disease, pre-diabetes, and smoking cessation. This Clinic diagnoses and treats disorders related to cholesterol metabolism:

  • Inherited or other dyslipidemias
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Statin or other lipid drug intolerance
  • Known coronary heart disease / stroke / TIA / PVD
  • Patients requiring high intensity lipid and prevention therapy to reduce risk
  • Unexplained premature vascular disease
  • Family history of severe / genetic dyslipidemia or premature vascular disease (men 55 or younger, women 65 or younger)
  • Pre-diabetes (IFG/IGT) or family history of diabetes
  • Smoking cessation
